The Sutton Family
The Parish Church
of St Thomas was the main burial site of the Sutton Family in the 18th/19th
century. It is located in the rural village of Melling near Maghull, approximately
6miles NNW from the City of Liverpool.

The Sutton main plot is located just left of centre, and immediately next
to the
path the length of the Church.

The Suttons buried in this Churchyard were born in Maghull/Melling.
Over a period from approx 1816 to 1826 they
moved one family at a time to Speke, 3 miles South of Liverpool,
to farm the land surrounding Speke Hall,
then owned by the famous Watt Family.
After their death they were returned home to Melling to be
buried.
